Why we need

your help

 

It costs us over £4,000 each week to run St Nicolas and keep the church open to the community. Your regular giving provides us with regular income towards these costs, which helps us take responsible decisions about our work in the Parish.

 

To maintain the Church, the churchyard, the St Nicolas Rooms, and to support the work we do in the Community including our Mission Giving to Local, National and International Charities, and carry out all its activities, the Church relies entirely on voluntary donations from parishioners and other supporters.

 

If you are not able to give financially or if you would like to give in other ways too: We very much welcome your gifts and your time in helping us run our many activities and community outreach, as well as in the maintenance of the Church and the churchyard. See below for more details about that. 

 

 

Here are a few ways that you can help

One-Off Donations

If you would like to donate a one-off sum, you scan scan the QR code by this text. All donations are received gratefully and put toward funding church and community growth.

Regular Giving by Standing Order

According to your own needs and ability, you can schedule a donation which leaves your account at a recurring monthly, quarterly or annual interval. Enquire at the Parish Office to learn more about the Parish Giving Scheme (PGS) or click the image by this text.

Making Gift Aid Declarations

You've probably seen the blue envelopes in the pews. Now you can make declarations using a paper form which you can download under the 'Useful Forms' links at the bottom of this page. This will boost your donation by 25p for for every £1 you donate! To learn more, click the image by this text.

EasyFundraising

This scheme covers online shopping at hundreds of online stores, and across all types of companies, from clothing and pharmacuticals to utilities and home insurance. We've even seen cash back from booking holidays! If you're shopping online, there's a really good chance St Nics could benefit at no additional cost to you. Not able to support us financially, but have some time to give?

We would love to hear from you! Our volunteers are the lifeblood of our church and we are always looking for new faces to join in the fun whilst doing something good for our community. If you are interested in helping out with any of the following Parish activites, please contact us at the Parish Office:

 

• Sunday morning Kids group 'Trackers' • Little Nic's Toddlers • Open the Book (going into schools to bring the bible to life in a very simple but effective way) • Singing in the choir • Playing or singing in the worship band • Supporting audio / visual tech assistance • Administrative assistance • Church warden duties • Flower arranging • Hospitality (preparing and serving refreshments after church • and many more... we would love to hear what talents you can share! •
